A common question people ask is what the difference is between a franchise broker and a franchise consultant. Depending on who you ask, a lot, and none. We will explain…

Yes there are “franchise consultants” that are actually hired by franchisors to consult – just like any industry may hire a specialist or consultant to advise them on their particular business or industry. But in the respect that most of us are thinking, the answer is no, there is no difference. 

Probably more for differentiating factors, most broker groups may choose a different term to go by. Business Alliance, FranChoice, Franchise Brokers Association and IFPG all tend to refer to themselves as brokers. FranServe and The Franchise Consulting Company refer to themselves as consultants while Success Franchise Advisors calls themselves Advisors and The Entrepreneur Source calls themselves Coaches.

At the end of the day, in this particular industry we all do the same thing and just choose different titles. Like a Realtor or a real estate agent, a recruiter or a headhunter, teacher or instructor… You get it.
